~Saanjh's pov
'Beep..Beep..Beep..' my alarm rang i groaned at the annoying beeping sound it was 7 am and I had to wake up for work. I stood up and went to bathroom for my morning chores and did my routine. Even though I woke up on time, I found myself running late. It turned out that my plan to take a quick 5-minute nap while showering ended up causing the delay.
Time has a funny way of slipping away when we least expect it, right? anyways, it was just a regular day, rushing to get ready for the office, and bam!
My mom starts shouting 'cause I was about to be late. But ab meri kya galti hai time mujhse jaldi chal raha hai main usse thodi bolungi bhai ek kaam kar dheere chal ( But seriously, what's my fault if time decides to sprint ahead? I wish I could tell time to slow down, like, 'Hey bro, take it easy!' 😮💨) btw i'm Saanjh Khurana, the only daughter of Amit and Meera Khurana, ohh and I'm currently workin' at Seth Corporations as a marketing manager. And guess what? Even though I'm 26, I still feel like I'm sweet sixteen! Hehe, age is just a number, right?🤭
"Saanjh, your breakfast is ready! Come on, hurry up before you get late. Oh my goodness, this girl will definitely give me a heart attack one day," my mom shouted from downstairs. I quickly checked myself in the mirror one more time, grabbed my purse, and rushed downstairs. And there she was, my mom, giving me a stern look with a belan (rolling pin) in her hand. I muttered, "God save me now," and made my way to the dining table where my dad was engrossed in reading the newspaper.
I went up to him and said, "Good morning!" He replied with a smile and patted my head. Meanwhile, I couldn't help but wonder where my little brother was. Just then, he appeared with a mischievous grin on his face, like a little shaitan (devil). We settled down at our seats, enjoyed our breakfast, had some chit-chat, and then headed out for our regular work.
So here I am, sitting in my office, doing my thing. And guess what? I even have my own personal cabin! Lets nachoo guys💃Anyway, we have a meeting this afternoon, followed by dinner. But guess who won't be going? You and I, I'm a bit of an introverted person because of some past experiences. Trusting people isn't always easy for me. But that's just how it goes sometimes, right? so yeah that's it.
Oh, you must be curious about how I get to the office, right? Yeh bhi koi puchne ki baat hai? (not even a question to be asked) ofcourse my dhano (hehe) well, i mean my scooty. I simply hop on my trusty two-wheeler. So, there I was, diligently working after the meeting had wrapped up.
Suddenly, without even bothering to knock, the door to my cabin swung open. Now, I didn't even need to look up to know who it was. There's only one person who always comes into my cabin like that, and that's my dear best friend, Yashvi Malhotra.
Yashvi, my childhood best friend since 1st grade we still share the same equation , not a single thing has changed between us except for our faces. She walked into the room bhi things I have to put up with from this girl!
After almost an hour of lecturing, she finally asked me to respond. Can't she see that she's been talking nonstop for the past hour? Huh, anyways, I still mustered up a reply, "I was in the meeting, yrr, that's why my phone was on silent. And after that, I got caught up with work, so I completely forgot to check my phone. Okay, now you have your answer," I said, letting out a sigh.
After a long minute of silence, I finally spoke up again, "Yo, why are you here? Don't you have work to do?" Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that we both work at the same company. We're always together like magnets, you know? Sometimes I wonder if people think we're into each other, but who cares what they say! As I was lost in my thoughts, she interrupted and mentioned a new cafe that just opened up on the corner of the road. She said she was hungry, and who am I to say no to food? Man, food is everything! So I told her we'd go after we finished work, and she agreed. She headed back to her cabin, and we quickly wrapped up our tasks before heading to the newly opened cafe.
OMG,you won't believe our first reaction when we saw that cafe! It was like, "WOW!" Seriously, it's so beautiful and gives off such good vibes. And the smell of freshly baked cookies and muffins? Girl, my mouth was watering like crazy! 🤤 There were only a few people there, probably because it's a weekday, anyways we got our seats near a window.
Let me tell you, the view outside was stunning. It felt like I was seeing it for the first time, even though I've been there before. The tall buildings blocking the sun, the sound of vehicles, and people crossing the road—ugh, Mumbai traffic can be a nightmare! But inside the cafe, the brown-colored seats and sofas perfectly matched the greenery and the soft glow of the light bulbs. It was so relaxing.
( Cafe.)

After finding ourselves a cozy spot we placed our orders. I went for a cappuccino and pasta, while she ordered a mocha and garlic bread. Let me tell you, the food was absolutely delicious! It was a perfect match with the ambiance of the place.
I couldn't help but declare it my new favorite spot! 💃🏻 While we were havig our meals Yashu suddenly suggested that we make this our regular Thursday hangout spot since it's so amazing and conveniently close to our office. I couldn't resist and replied, "Why not? These cute foods are irresistible!" We both laughed at my response. 😄
She is my bestie since 1st grade, my ride or die. She knows everything about my life and even about HIM. When I had no one else, she was always there by my side. I can't imagine my life without her because she's the only one I can trust with anything. God, please keep her safe and happy because she's been my rock since childhood. And you know what? In return, I'm willing to make a sacrifice. How about no Panipuri for a whole month? Yeah, it's a big deal for me, but I'm willing to do it to show her how much she means to me.
After we finished our order, we headed home since it was already 6 pm and time to leave. When I got home, I greeted my mom and dad. My brother had already gone out with his friends, so I went to my room, washed up, did my skincare routine, and then went to sleep.
I had already eaten a lot at the cafe, so I didn't feel like eating anymore. As I drifted off to sleep, thoughts of him crossed my mind, wondering what he must be doing and how he looks now. But I quickly brushed those thoughts aside to avoid getting distracted. I know it's better for us not to meet again. *With this last thought she fell asleep, unknown to what her future holds.*🌙💤
